Direct Cremation
A direct cremation is the term used in the funeral industry for the quickest and simplest cremation available. It's a cremation with no funeral service, or ceremony performed beforehand.
It's sometimes also known as a basic cremation, cremation without ceremony, or simple cremation. No attendance is allowed and you cannot request dates or times that the cremation will take place.
After death, the deceased would be brought to our Chapel of Rest where they would stay until the cremation date is arranged. A simple, plain pine coffin will be used. After the cremation, the remains are returned to the funeral director within 7 days to be returned to the family according to their wishes.
Direct cremations cost £1,350.00 and includes:
- A simple pine coffin
- Removal of deceased from hospital, home or care home to our Chapel of Rest
- Doctors fee for cremation forms
- Completing of all necessary paperwork to enable the cremation to take place
- Cremation fee
- Suitable container for cremated remains
A Simple Funeral
The Simple Funeral service costs £1,750.00 and will include:
- All Funeral Director’s Services
- Attending to the necessary arrangements
- Provision of the necessary staff
- Provision of a simple oak veneer coffin
- Transfer of the deceased from the place of death during working hours to the chapel of rest
- Unattended Cremation at Swansea Crematorium
- Service at our Chapel of Rest in Brynhyfryd (seats up to 50 persons)
- Medical Fee for Cremation Certificate
Please be aware that the above cost does not include the following:
- Embalming / Hygienic Treatment
- Provision of Limousine
- Ministers Fee
- Notice of Death in Local Paper
- Order of Service Sheets
